Location: Newmarket, Ontario, Canada. This is a Union Position
Full-Time, Salary $46.30 - $50.31 per hour
Position Purpose
Reporting to the Program Manager, Delivery Implementation is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation and maintenance of project and quality management and delivery methodologies and associated resources during the delivery of Environmental Services’ infrastructure projects; and quality control through well documented project governance and clearly defined project delivery processes in alignment with the Department’s quality management principles and guidelines. 
  • Successful completion of a three (3) year Community College Diploma Program in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent approved combination of education and experience.
  • Must be registered as a Certified Engineering Technologist and be a member in good standing with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians/Technologists (OACETT) or be registered in an approved equivalent professional association.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ demonstrated experience in municipal water, wastewater or waste management design or construction with experience performing project management tasks and quality assurance and control activities.
  • Valid Ontario Class "G" driver's license in good standing and reliable vehicle to use on corporate business.
  • Demonstrated experience working with computer software including AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, Professional, Project Online / Project Server, SharePoint, Web Publishing and File Management.
  • Computer literacy utilizing MS Office applications in a Windows environment. 
  • Knowledge and demonstrated ability in corporate core competencies including communication, innovation, teamwork and collaboration, and personal ownership.
  • Solid analysis and critical thinking skills required. 
  • Demonstrated aptitude for process and quality management techniques and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability reviewing and assisting in the approval of construction tender packages and advisement to senior management of potential tender package deficiencies, construction risks and possible avoidance strategies prior to tender.
  • Demonstrated ability participating in process improvement workshops, project manager / staff meetings in order to keep project delivery tools, templates, departmental protocols and project coordination requirements up to date and reflective of change management practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with group members to reach consensus regarding process development and implementation.
  • Ability to visualize work progress for scheduling purposes and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to interact with Regional staff, staff representatives of other levels of government, outside agencies, contractors, consultants and the general public.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and complete assignments and work effectively under stressful and/or controversial conditions. 
  • Ability to work outside normal business hours as required.
