This is a permanent full time position working 35 hours per week.

Halton is recruiting for a dynamic, forward thinking individual who can handle large, complex projects, support teams, drive decisions, hold team members at all levels of leadership accountable and successfully navigate risk while being adept to many areas of the business and lead the delivery of transformative technology initiatives.
The Manager, Planning & Integration is animated by a passion for new technologies, organizational transformation and innovation, that will have a real impact on improving and optimizing the Information Technology Experience for residents and employees
As Manager, Planning & Integration, you will lead a team of project managers for the delivery and implementation of technology projects that support business transformation through modernization, automation and efficiencies.
Preferred Background:
The successful candidate will possess a University Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration or a related discipline along with at least ten (10) years of experience in IT or related project management. Lean Six Sigma certifications (Green or Black Belt) and PMP designation is an asset. The ideal candidate will have at least five (5) years of management experience with the ability to lead, coach, and influence and motivate staff.  Proven experience with various project delivery methodologies such as Waterfall, Iterative and/or Agile and organizational skills are required along with knowledge of information technology best practices to manage competing and high priority projects simultaneously.  Highly developed oral and written communication skills, excellent customer service skills and strong analytical and problem solving skills are required.  The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of political acuity with strong interpersonal and negotiation skills. 
Working Conditions:
Travel to various locations with Halton Region will be required; incumbent must provide their own transportation.
  • Ensure project success by driving execution through the application of sound project management principles and methodologies.
  • Motivate project team members for successful delivery of project objectives and to grow in their ability to manage increasingly complexity.
  • Act as the primary liaison between all team resources assigned to a project, IT and the Executive Team.
  • Maintain regular communications to an established cadence with PMs and business stakeholders to ensure necessary and appropriate steps are taken to resolve obstacles which may impede progress or compromise achievement of project’s objectives.
  • Responsible for demand management that encompasses the measurement of demands against the available capacity specifically assessing the ability of our organization, vendors, and our processes to execute on prioritized activities.
  • Work with various vendors on large organizational initiatives and ensuring that all contracts with suppliers support the needs of the business, and that all suppliers meet their contractual service level agreements.
  • Support the organization’s process for compiling, prioritizing and monitoring all projects.
  • Expertly guide resourcing considering the approved Software Development Lifecycle process for approved projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
