The Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority (CRCA) seeks a highly motivated Technologist, Water Resources to join our team. The CRCA works with local communities to conserve natural resources in southeastern Ontario watersheds. For more information please visit:
Kingston, Ontario
Full-time, permanent position
35 hours per week
Competitive salary range (under review) and comprehensive benefits package
Key Responsibilities:
Forecast flood conditions and issue messages to local communities, coordinate water control structure asset management, maintenance and operations, and coordinate floodplain mapping projects
Review development proposals with respect to flooding, erosion and stormwater management
Provide technical advice to municipalities, community organizations and the public
Accreditation as a Certified Engineering Technologist (or have relevant prerequisites)
Diploma in civil engineering technology (or equivalent)
Minimum two years of relevant experience
Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving, presentation and organizational skills
Ability to perform under pressure and address multiple priorities
Proficiency with the full suite of Microsoft Office software, and geographic information systems
Proficiency with aerial photographs, maps and development plans
Experience with stormwater management and drainage, water control structures, and hydrologic/ hydraulic analyses and modelling
Knowledge of applicable legislation will be an asset
  - Valid Class ‘G’ Driver’s License or equivalent and a clean driving record required
  - Working at Heights safety training (asset)
