Water Operator
 
Located within the broader GTA, in southern Simcoe County, Bradford West Gwillimbury is a thriving municipality. Bradford is our main urban centre and our blend of rural and urban communities encompasses 200 square kilometres of rolling countryside and the well-known Holland Marsh. The Town is among Ontario’s fastest growing municipalities. We are seeking a motivated, dynamic and team oriented individual to join our Town’s Water Division.
 
Reporting to the Water Manager, this position will be responsible for day-to-day operation and maintenance of the Town’s Class III water supply and distribution system. Duties include all aspects of water monitoring, operation, maintenance and repair of the Town’s water distribution and supply system, and will include interaction with customers, developers, contractors, and others under the direct supervision of the Water Supervisor.
 
The successful candidate will hold an MOE Water Operator in Training license or above for water distribution and supply, combined with solid technical skills and the ability to communicate effectively, professionally and courteously with all levels of staff, elected officials, developers, contractors and the general public. Knowledge of computers, SCADA equipment and computerized maintenance management systems would be an asset. In addition, preference will be given to candidates with a college background in environmental technology as the candidate is required to obtain a Class III license level as a condition of ongoing employment.
 
The successful candidate must possess a valid class “G” driver’s license in good standing with reliable transportation. The candidate will be required to complete a criminal reference check as a pre-condition of employment.
 
The Town offers an hourly wage range of $23.80 to $35.31 (salary commensurate with achieved level of certification) plus a competitive benefit package, and the opportunity to grow with us.
